“Many entrepreneurs of the baby-boom generation are reaching a stage of life where exit strategies or succession plans need to be put in place.”
GRAHAM MORRIS CPA
Graham Morris is a registered company auditor, registered tax agent, member of CPA Australia, and Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
Vastly experienced in all areas of accounting for small to medium-sized businesses, and with an extensive working knowledge of taxation within Australia, Graham predominantly focuses on management accounting for clients to assist with their business development and profitability. He also undertakes forensic accounting and general audit assignments.
Another specialist area of professional practice for Graham is succession planning for business owners and company directors.
“Many entrepreneurs of the baby-boom generation are reaching a stage of life where exit strategies or succession plans need to be put in place,” Graham said. “Some business people are looking forward to a well-planned retirement. Others may find it challenging to embrace the prospect of selling their business or stepping aside for a successor. I’ve been able to assist many business owners and professional practitioners to make this transition in a way that’s beneficial for them, their businesses, and all stakeholders concerned.”
“One benefit derived from this hobby of mine is the insight I’ve gained into the hospitality industry from having co-owned a vineyard, venue, and B&B establishment for many years. It is this frontline experience and understanding that I bring to the table in my professional service to clients who own cafés, restaurants, bars, hotels, and accommodation businesses. Quite a few of our firm’s business clients have sought me out to become their accountant, business advisor, or mentor for this reason precisely.”

“I can fully appreciate the juggling involved in balancing the needs of the present with the desire to provide well for the future. It’s all doable.”
GEOFF MORRIS CPA
Geoff Morris is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. He joined Billings and Ellis in 2005 after spending five years in audit at KPMG including a secondment to the London office in 2004. “Working in London for KPMG was an exciting time for me professionally, and it certainly broadened my horizons. I was inspired to follow my father’s vocation by becoming an accountant in the first place, but it became important for me to prove my professional skills at an international level before I felt ready to settle down in South Melbourne and join Graham as a director of this long-established firm.”
Geoff is immensely experienced in audit, taxation, and compliance, and also specialises in superannuation, investment and personal wealth creation.
Away from the office, Geoff enjoys golf and spending time with his family. “I’m married to a professional accountant and we have children at school, so I can fully appreciate the juggling involved in balancing the needs of the present with the desire to provide well for the future. It’s all doable.”
“Helping clients along the road towards personal wealth, and ultimately into a position of financial security and independence, is one of the most satisfying aspects of my profession. It’s never too soon to begin. The earlier people get started, the easier it is to realise their financial goals, and the more ambitious these goals can be,” Geoff said. Geoff is a CPA member, holds a Public Practicing Certificate, and is an Authorised Representative of CPA Australia Advice.
“Self-managed superannuation funds are a key opportunity among today’s strategies for personal wealth creation. Fixed set-up and administration fees for SMSFs, such as those offered by our firm, mean that almost anyone can viably free themselves from the status quo of institutional superannuation fund management, and take control of their own future-focused investment portfolio,” said Geoff.
